Options cater to a variety of different needs and preferences. We offer different types of residences for incoming students: 91³Ô¹ÏÍøResidences are managed by the university, house only 91³Ô¹ÏÍøstudents and include 1 or 2 RAs. Partner French Student Residences include an 91³Ô¹ÏÍøcommunity mixed with French and international tenants, and usually include an RA as well. Partner Apartment-hotels offer quality housing to our students through the diligent work of on-site partner staff. Our housing offering includes single apartments or studios, twin studios, and single and shared rooms in co-living apartments. No two Parisians experience their city the same way, so we’ve made sure each of our different housing options highlights a unique aspect of life in this beautiful city.
Resident Assistants are upperclassmen 91³Ô¹ÏÍøstudents who work with the housing office to foster community and enforce safety policies and regulations in 91³Ô¹ÏÍøresidences. They are live-in resources for residents as they transition to 91³Ô¹ÏÍøand to Paris and work closely with housing staff to support students’ residential experience, whether through organizing events and programs in the building, or helping coordinate maintenance interventions with our partners!
Residence Representatives as 91³Ô¹ÏÍøincoming students who are selected within their Partner Residence to serve as a liaison with the housing office. A Residence Representative is not a Resident Assistant: they are not tasked with enforcing policy, and any maintenance intervention in the building is managed directly by our partner on-site staff. Their main responsibility is helping build community within the residence through organizing programs with the help of the housing office. Residence Representatives are selected during the summer ahead of Landing Day, so look out for that application process! Students will have their orientation fee waived (500€) should they be selected to serve in the role.
Partner Aparthotels provide linens, with a weekly change of bedsheets in place for students. 91³Ô¹ÏÍøResidences and Partner Student Residences units will come with one set of linens provided (pillow, pillow case, duvet, duvet cover, fitted sheet, mattress protection, large towel). Student can choose to use that set during their stay in the residence; some of our students, however, do choose to purchase an additional set for use during the semester or the year, or an additional blanket/duvet for the winter months. We recommend waiting until you are in Paris to purchase any such items – our staff and student advisors can guide you during Landing Day and Orientation Week to stores around your residence! In general, we recommend packing light for you Paris move, and prioritizing essentials such as clothing and sentimental items. Any additional furnishings or decorations are best purchased once in Paris, when you have had a chance to see your space and settle in.
Paris is a dense city; as such, apartment and studio storage spaces can be quite small. Expect a small closet space in bedrooms, and limited storage in studios and apartments – much as you would for a traditional college dorm room. As such, we recommend packing light, and prioritizing essentials such as clothing and sentimental items. Any additional studio furnishings or decorations are best purchased once in Paris, once you have had chance to see your space and settle in!
We understand the difficulties of this situation. Given that our assignment is first-come-first-served, students who reserve late will have limited options, so we recommend you secure your housing as soon as possible. Please note, however, that the first payment is non-refundable.
We have a limited number of beds in our 91³Ô¹ÏÍøHousing offering; as such, our housing may be fully booked by the end of summer (end of July through August). For that reason, we recommend that you secure your housing as soon as possible. Students who confirm their attendance late may have to secure housing independently, if they commit to attending 91³Ô¹ÏÍøif we no longer have beds available at the time of their enrollment.
