How to Read a Student鈥檚 Transcript (Placement Results)听

Understanding Placement and Waiver Exam Results

Placement and waiver exam results appear on your transcript. The chart below outlines all possible placement and waiver results, how they appear on your transcript and what they mean.听For example,听if your English placement听is 鈥淓N PLACEMENT INTO EN 2020鈥�,听this听means听you听can register into EN2020.听Similarly, for math,听if your result听is 鈥淐CM NOT WAIVED 鈥� PLACEM. INTO MA 1005CCM鈥�,听this听means听you must听complete a听math course as part of the Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (course type听CCM). To satisfy the CCM requirement, you can register directly into Math for Life MA1005, or depending on听your major, you may satisfy the requirement with another CCM course that can fulfill both the GLACC requirement and a major requirement. This is something to听discuss听with your advisor.听

Placement Results (Course number) What it means. How to Include in Degree Worksheet
听 EN-1000听 Student should register in EN-1000. Enter EN-1000 under Open Electives at the bottom of the degree worksheet.听
听 EN-1010听 Student should register in EN-1010.听
听 EN-2020听 Student should register in EN-2020. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to indicate听that student has placed out of EN-1010.听
听 FR PLACEM INTO FR-1100听 Student should register in FR 1100.听
听 FR PLACEM INTO FR-1200-CCF听 Student should register in FR 1200. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to indicate听that student has placed out of FR-1100.听
听 FR PLACEM INTO FR-1300-CCI听 Student can register in FR 1300 CCI. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to听indicate that student has placed out of FR-1100 and FR-1200.听
听 FR PLACEM INTO FR-2100-CCI听 Student can register in FR 2100 CCI. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to indicate听that student has placed out of FR-1100 and FR-1200.听
听 FR PLACEM INTO FR2200听 Student can register in FR 2200 CCI. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to indicate听that student has placed out of FR-1100 and FR-1200.听
听 FR PLACEM ABOVE FR2200听 Student is exempt from taking French. Use 鈥淣/A鈥� to听indicate that student has placed out of FR-1100 and FR- 1200.听
听 CCM NOT WAIVED- PLACEM. INTO MA 1005CCM听 Student must take听a GLACC math course (course type CCM).听
听 CCM WAIVED 鈥� MA1005 EQUIVALENCY听 GLACC math requirement completed. Student is exempt from taking math if major does not require it.听
MA TEST PLACEM.听INTO MA 0900听 听 Student must take MA900 before moving on to take MA1020 or MA1025.听
听 MA SCORE PLACEM INTO MA 1020CCM听OR MA 1025CCM听 Student can take MA1020 or MA1025听directly without taking MA900 as a pre- or co-requisite.听
MA TEST PLACEM. BELOW MA 1030 CCM听 Student must take MA1020 or MA1025 before moving on to take MA1030.听
听 MA SCORE PLACEM INTO MA 1030CCM OR ANY CCM听 Student can register in MA1030 or any course coded CCM.听
