STUDENTS MUST REGISTER WITH THE ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER (ARC) BY SUBMITTING THE PROPER PAPERWORK TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC ACCOMMODATIONS. Steps for Registering your Request

  1. Self-Identify
    1. Students must decide if they want to disclose their need for accommodations to ARC. To initiate this process, please contact the Learning Accommodations Coordinator at rwebberataup.edu.
  2. Submit Documentation
    1. Valid documents must beÌýsubmitted to the rwebberataup.edu (Learning Accommodations CoordinatorÌý)at the latest during the first week of classes when starting AUP; the accommodations will then be officially registered. 91³Ô¹ÏÍøunderstands that disabilities can be diagnosed at any time and will accept late registrations throughout the semester to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Intake meeting
    1. Students must meet with the Learning Accommodations Coordinator for a individualize meeting to review the requests and to go over next steps, as well as their role as a student, in the accommodation process.

Criteria for Eligibility

In accordance with theÌý, students may request academic accommodations while enrolled at The American University of Paris.Ìý

To be eligible for accommodations, students need to submit official medical documentation, which must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be issued by a Qualified Licensed Professional.
  2. Must be current:Ìýless than 5 years old.
    1. However, this documentation does not need to come from your original diagnosing doctor. This documentation can be issued by any qualified and licensed medical professional.
    2. There is no need to present the documentation again at the beginning of each semester, as long as it remains valid.
  3. Originals must be presented, so a copy can be made and kept on file. Digital copies are accepted but must be in PDF format.
  4. Must specify clear and reasonable accommodations. 91³Ô¹ÏÍøstaff members are not qualified to make recommendations to faculty based on testing results alone.

If the documentation doesn’t meet all of the above criteria, the student will be asked to be retested in order to be eligible to receive accommodations at AUP. rwebberataup.edu (PleaseÌýcontact the Academic Resource CenterÌý)for a referral to a specialist.
