Welcome transfer students!The advisors in the ACE Centerlook forward to working with you to help make your 91Թjourney an exciting time of intellectual and personal discovery.You will be assigned to a dedicated transfer advisor during your first semester at 91Թin order to provide specialized support during this transition and ensure that all your credits have been correctly transferred. Upon completion of your firstsemesteryou will get reassigned to an advisor who matches as closelyas possible your academic interests and needs. You will move into coursework tied to your previous academic standing and based on consultations with your advisor.
The American University of Paris will transfer credits from regionally or nationally accredited universities. We have lots ofexperience dealing with international institutions.
Transfer students receive creditfor previously completed university courses where a grade of Cor higher was earned.
Only credits, not grades transfer to AUP.
Students may transfer a maximum of 64 credits from all sources (i.e., advanced credit awards and transfer credits).
Students must complete 50% of their upper-level major requirements at AUP.
Some majors have more specific rulesregardingtransfer credits.
Students may apply up to 8 credits of transfer work to a minor.
The last16 degreecredits must be completed in residency at AUP.
Remember that you must submit your official transcripts to AUP's Office ofAdmissions by the end of your first semester at 91Թin order to be awarded transfer credit for external coursework you have done at an accredited post-secondary institution. External coursework reflectedon an official transcript that is submitted after your first semester at 91Թis not eligible to receive transfer credit.
Students who have passed any of the secondary school leaving exams with certain scores qualify to receive academic credit that counts toward the 128 credits required to graduate from AUP. This is called advanced standing credit. Advanced standing credit is granted in the following cases:
International Baccalaureate Diploma/Certificate: 32 semester credits for diploma results of 30 or above; 8 semester credits for diploma results between 24 and 29 for each HL score of 4 or above; 8 semester credits for each IB HL Certificate with a score of 4 or above. Students receiving an IB score of 33 or above are also eligible for AUP's IB Diploma Scholarship.
Advanced Placement “AP” Tests (College Board):8 semester credits for each AP test passed with a grade of 4 or above, not to exceed 24 credits. AUP's CEEB code is 0866.
GCE 'A' Level Examinations: 32 semester credits for at least three subjects in which an A, B, or C was achieved; 11 semester credits for each individual subject in which an A, B, or C was achieved.
Bulgarian Diploma zaSrednoObrazovanie: 32 credits with a minimum average grade of 4.
DanishStudentereksamen: 32 credits with a minimum average grade of 9.
Dutch VWO (VoorbereidendWetenschappelijkOnderwijs): 32 semester credits a minimum average of 6.
