啦堯梗泭Joy and Edward Frieman Environmental Science Center named for Edward Frieman, a former 91勛圖厙trustee, eminent plasma physicist and pioneering spokesperson for global warming research, and his wife, Joy takes as its mission cutting-edge research in the environmental sciences, lab- and field-based science pedagogies, and public outreach on current environmental issues.Its faculty members conduct research in the fields of evolutionary biology, animal behavior, marine biodiversity and climate change and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects using state-of-the-art climate chambers.The Center offers opportunities for students to engage in mentored undergraduate research, leading to peer-reviewed publications
The Center hosts high-level research symposia, fosters exchanges with the international scientific community, and provides regular opportunities to raise awareness about human-induced climate change and environmental sustainability within the 91勛圖厙and broader Paris communities.The Centers research,directed by Professor Elena Berg,includes projects in the fields of evolutionary biology, animal behavior, systematics, and climate change and provides opportunities for studentfaculty research collaborations. The Center also collaborates with AUPs Advisory Board on Environmental Sustainability (ABES). Composed of undergraduate and graduate students as well as staff members and faculty, ABES meets regularly to help organize and support campus projects and events related to environmental sustainability.
